Members of our talented Art and Craft group knitted the pictured scarves to help in the quest to raise awareness of Lewy Body dementia.

Just prior to lock down our Art and Craft group responded to a call for help to knit pouches for Kangaroos and Koalas following the horrific fires in Australia. We are so glad to hear that they’ve been warmly received and put straight into use. Our thanks go to all those who provided wool and to our fab knitters for all their hard work.

DFPaY recently registered with the Charity Commission, Dementia Friendly Parishes around the Yealm proudly looks to its long term future as a local charity.
Working across the 5 parishes of Wembury, Brixton, Yealmpton, Newton & Noss,& Holbeton, in December 2018, the project was voted a winner of the Skipton Building Society’s Grassroots Giving Initiative.
Thank you to all those who voted for us. The £500 award will help pay for updating our leaflets, explaining our work how we make a difference and our new charity status.
The charity is registered with the Seamoor Lotto(www.seamoorlotto.co.uk) you will be helping people with dementia and their families locally- and could win prizes too. All money raised for our charity funds the post of the project worker, who visits families and helps to keep them involved and valued in their communities.
All other activities, like training, awareness raising and groups that we run, are paid for by grant applications to national and local funds.
