Dementia Friendly Parishes around the Yealm is looking for an energetic Community Development Lead to take forward the work of this ground-breaking local charity into the next decade. Key to the role is ensuring that people living with dementia and their families continue to remain active and involved in their local communities. It’s an exciting opportunity to make a real difference, working across and connecting with the many organisations, businesses and families in the five parishes of Wembury, Brixton, Yealmpton, Holbeton and Newton & Noss. The post holder will have experience of working with or caring  for people with a  diagnosis of dementia together with up to date knowledge and experience of innovative community development, using a range of  IT, social media and personal communication skills to ensure we stay at the top of the leader board as one of the most dementia friendly places in the UK. This is a generously remunerated self-employed, part time, flexible working post of 22.5 hours a week that will include some occasional weekend and evening work, with an hourly rate to be negotiated depending on experience.
